Rebecca has been part of the Noorthoek Academy family for 11 years. She is always ready with a smile. She enjoys dance, gymnastics, art, and acting. Since Rebecca moved to the sunny state of Florida, she participates by way of Zoom.

Is This Paradise?
Although the sun feels pleasant and a
warm breeze brushes against my face,
my feet sink into the sand
like quicksand.
I hear people talking and
waves rushing towards the shore,
like roaring lions.
I feel vulnerable in this unpredictable place.
Exploration
Dark and deserted.
Bitter cold.
Limited life.
Unique.
Fear of the unknown.
This Matters
Kindness is thinking about
another’s feelings.
It is treating people the way
that you would like to be treated.
When I am treated kindly,
I feel like I matter,
that I am valued.
