Kylee’s Bio
Kylee celebrated 13 years as a Noorthoek Academy student. She enjoys praising God, eating cheeseburgers, cheering on the University of Michigan, and doing research. She is an actress who has appeared in several Penguin Project productions. Kylee loves spending time with her extended family, including her sister, Nana, and nephew.

A Refreshed Soul
Waves of color blow in the gentle breeze.
Sounds of geese
honking in the distance.
My skin feels warm with the first rays of the sun.
Playing with my nephew,
after a nice cold glass of Diet Coke.
A scent of crisp fall air fills my nose
as I sip on apple cider.
My soul feels refreshed.
The Creator's Canvas
In my mind, I see
blue sky.
The dark blue of Lake Michigan
with a hint of white waves.
An orange sun overhead
as big as a ball.
Seagulls sing a happy tune.
Children are laughing.
My Nana tells us about our Creator.
Fresh air fills my senses.
A gentle wind blows on my face.
I can smell a bonfire burning.
Blue Moon ice cream with a cherry on top
is sweet on my tongue.
I know that I am loved.
Peaceful heart.

The Stage
As a child, I dreamed of being on stage.
I struggled to talk,
using sign language to communicate.
Penguin Project
has inspired my love of theater.
Performing on stage for a theater full of people
Is a dream come true.
Next stage…
Movies and motivational speaking.
My Voice
I can clearly see,
The gang of girls saying,
“Why does she walk like that?”
Luckily, I was with my friend
who stood up for me.
Sometimes, I’m afraid to use my voice.
I worry that people will laugh at me.
Then, I think of Moses in the Bible!
After talking to my Nana,
and hearing her words,
“I am so proud of you Kylee,”
I am reminded of her love.
Oh man, that feels good!!
Nephew Love
Oh, how I love his middle name.
He’s fun and bubbly, busy and smiley.
Making mischief is his favorite game.
His cheeks are so kissable,
But he runs away shyly.
Growing taller and so very fine.
Samuel Kyle, you are my sunshine.
New Hope
Years ago,
it felt like my talents and skills
were hidden.
Noorthoek changed my life!
I became more comfortable just
being me.
My faith gets me through
many hard things.
Now, I believe that my purpose
is to teach others
about hope.
My Dream
I want to be an actress.
Not for the spotlight,
fame,
or attention from people,
although they’re very nice.
I love to make people smile,
add a little laughter to their day.
It’s my hunger to glorify God.

Smiley Kylee is what I’m often called.
People smile, others sometimes applaud.
The great thing about a smile,
it never goes out of style.
A smile is kind and it warms the soul,
makes you feel completely whole.
I can hear a giggle behind each one,
and know that person is having fun.
A smile will brighten everyone’s day.
