Kristen’s Bio
Kristen is a Special Olympics athlete who competes in Swimming, Soccer, and Downhill Skiing. She is a fan of all the professional sports teams from Kansas City. She enjoys reading, especially ghost stories and fantasy. Kristen works part time in the health industry. She loves to travel and recently visited Luxemburg. Kristen enjoys spending time with her dog named Rusty, watching scary movies, and expressing herself creatively through drawing and coloring.

In the Dark
I woke up in the dark.
Wondering where I was,
my eyes fell upon
a tiny sliver of light
glowing under the door.
I slowly opened it and
saw my place in bed.
It all came back to me,
I was in my hotel room,
deep in the heart of Texas.
The Sleepwalker
My first time,
I was a kid.
Down the stairs,
past the couch
where my Dad slept.
He woke to hear me
knock on my brother’s door,
“Come outside to play.”
He gently led me back to bed,
where I slept until morning.
No memory of my
nighttime adventure.
