Gabe’s Poetry
Missing Color
A world without color,
Is a world without happiness.
I would miss the green of the trees,
Blue sky,
Golden sun,
A beautiful rainbow.
I would miss
Brown squirrels
Red Cardinals
Blue Jays.
I am thankful for color.
Camouflage
Tigers are beautiful.
Orange stripes
help them hide in the grass.
Camouflage
Red Energy
Red Robins flying above me.
Birds singing.
Bugs buzzing.
Geese yelling.
Smells of flowers, trees, and green grass.
Red is the color of energy.
Makes me smile.
Memories of Love
An army of tulips
Smells like perfume.
Blue sky overhead.
A windmill makes noise,
like a drum.
Thump
Thump
Thump.
I hear birds singing,
bees buzzing as they work to make honey.
The warm sun is on my face.
Quietness in the air.
Memories of spending time with Gram
at the beach.
Feelings of peace and gratefulness
to God fill me up.
Standing in a field of tulips
reminds me of my Aunt Cora
who loved flowers
and me
very much.
A Bomb of Color
Traveling through China,
The land of the dragon.
I wonder how far
The Great Wall of China goes?
I walk for miles.
A long snake
on top of a mountain.
Traveling to Butterfly Valley,
I see a bomb of color.
Millions of butterflies.
Beautiful red, orange, and black.
My heart feels happy.
The Giant Buddha Statue
Carved into rock.
He is a spirit
crying for humans
when things are bad.
Space to Create
Arts in Motion,
one of my favorite places to be.
Teachers who inspire creativity.
Drama, and drumming.
I love being with my friends.
Learning new things.
Good and Easy
A sky blue ocean with
giant waves frothy as
whipped cream,
splashes my feet.
Birds whistle and call.
The waves sound
like drums.
People all around me
are enjoying the beach.
The sun is melting
on my skin,
fluffy sand under my feet.
My mood is good and easy.
I feel closer to God,
closer to my Grandma and Grandpa,
who love me so much.
Courage is Red
I wanted to go
to Danielle’s wedding.
In California.
I was afraid
to fly on a plane.
I was scared
but I got on.
Mom held my hand.
It went up into the air
and I liked it.
I felt strong and powerful.
Courage is red.
Alaskan Adventure
Living in the Alaskan wilderness,
I’ll take my cousin Jayden.
He’s good at fixing things,
and cooking on the grill.
Mom is coming too.
She likes the outdoors
and is a great cook.
Sometimes she gets lost,
but she is always fun.
Theresa will be there.
She’s my favorite cousin
who loves adventure,
hanging out with me,
and making me laugh.
What an exciting experience we will have!
Desert Life
I’d like to live in the desert,
in the sunshine and heat.
I have air conditioning and
a cool swimming pool.
The sunsets are beautiful.
Mount McKinley, Now Denali
Spruce trees,
Quaking Aspen,
blueberry bushes.
A land made for
grizzly bears,
caribou,
owls and squirrels.
Night skies colored
in northern lights.
My Beautiful Family
My family loves to laugh,
get crazy.
My Dad is a teaser
and a joker.
I love my family,
they make me happy.
Spring Came
I moved to Michigan.
I had no friends,
I was sad and lonely.
Like a flower under snow
that needs water and sun.
Sadly waiting for Spring.
Mom said,
“You will meet friends”.
I met Jack and
more friends.
Spring came and
I am happy.
Lucy
I love my dog Lucy.
She sees me and
wags her tail,
barks and jumps.
She smells my hair and
licks my face.
She is happy and
I am happy
to be together.
Brothers
Me, Beau and Sean
are the same.
We laugh at the same things.
We like the same TV shows.
We are brothers forever.
