Kristen finished her first year as part of the Noorthoek family. She has fully immersed herself in the Noorthoek community by being engaged in multiple classes as well as Aktion Club. Kristen enjoys horses and rides weekly.

Sea Green
Filled with shades of blue and sea green.
Waves whisper along the shore.
The scent of a crisp breeze.
A taste of salt on my tongue.
Wet sand underneath my feet.
A sense of calm, peace, and joy
washes over me.
After the Rain
Standing in the backyard,
I take in all my surroundings.
Fresh air fills my lungs as I listen to the sounds
of birds
and wind.
I touch the grass.
It feels spiky
but wet after the rain.
My fingers feel both rough and smooth bark
along the tree.
Flowers are coming up from the ground.
The leaves and stems are delicate
and smooth.
Forest bathing reminds me of
a peaceful horseback ride.
Nature's Lullaby
Tulips in all of the colors of the rainbow.
A heavenly blue sky.
Windmills are gently humming.
Birds chirping day and night
like the melody of nature’s lullaby.
The sun peeking through the clouds
warms my skin.
The sweet fragrance of candles
brings back memories of my Grandma.
My soul is calm, happy,
at peace.
