Hope From Above

A world called Earth under the heavens,
a creator beyond our imagination.
All the eyes can see, or the sounds we hear,
all creation is called to praise His name.
Battling our sins and the weight of the flesh,
the choices we made that rebelled against Him.
When all seemed lost and God isn’t there,
Only to find that He truly does care.

Age after age, Old and New Testament,
coming down from Heaven, chasing after every heart.
Breaking every chain of shame and guilt
through his power and love.
The fame he had, the hate he took,
yet the pressure of his calling never shook.
On his final day, when he was called by death,
beaten, broken, and brutally killed.
The darkest day in history ever lived.

But, the promises of God never ceased,
because three days later, Christ has won.
Look at how he chose to love!
When the enemy thought he stole our hope,
Christ has won the war.
The truth spoken in love and grace
still standing to this day.

Hearts are now forever changed.
Nothing stands above Jesus’ name.
Living now on this Earth,
may we strive to keep Him first.
We may stumble, hearts may ache,
but the good news of grace
won’t let us break.

Given all that was said and done,
My thankful heart continues to run.
I know the race is hard and long,
I will not fail because He is strong.
The steadfast love of God still stands,
holding me, and the world, in His hands.
One day I will leave Earth behind
Entering heaven by His design.
